Title: Focused Echocardiography for The ER VET

Description:

The use of focused cardiac ultrasound or focused echocardiogram in the dyspneic or hemodynamically compromised patient can expedite the diagnosis and treatment of congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and pericardial effusion. This 4 hour session will focus on image acquisition from various transducer positions in both lateral and sternal recumbency. Specifically we will image sedated dogs from the primarily from the right parasternal window as well as the left parasternal and sub-xyphoid windows.
